About
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of a single-storey extension to an existing pharmaceutical facility, designed to create a waste in-waste out lobby for end users. Delivered in a live operational environment, the project required careful planning and phased execution to maintain safety and efficiency throughout. The project scope included; Groundworks & Drainage – Installation of new drainage, a car park soakaway, and a concrete raft slab foundation to support the steel frame; Steel Frame & External Envelope – The structure was lined with SFS, cementitious board, and finished with rainscreen cladding and a Kingspan roof; Internal Fit-Out – Stud wall partitions with plasterboard lining, new internal fire doors, and external steel doors; Structural Modifications – A new cut-through of the existing Metsec structure created a doorway into the cleanroom corridor, with the fire escape ladder relocated to the return corridor; MEP Installations – New air conditioning and lighting integrated to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
Challenges & Solutions
A key challenge was managing site boundaries, which required adjustment multiple times throughout the project. Given the live site conditions, careful coordination was essential to ensure the safety of workers and facility operations. Through proactive planning and communication, we successfully adapted to these constraints while maintaining progress. This project stands as a testament to effective collaboration and problem-solving, delivering a high-quality extension that aligns with the client’s operational needs.
