This project included the conversion of the redundant 2 story marketing suite and 2 single apartment show rooms, within a private residential tower block at Nine Elms. The site was stripped back to a shell and core, to allow Highline to then carry out their site survey and complete the design for HCA’s new Outpatients clinic. This includes 5 consultant rooms, 1 phlebotomy, 1 treatment 2 DU & CU spaces, as well as staff changing, offices and staff rooms. The project itself included the installation of all new services and plant rooms. New AHU’s, Chillers, dirty extract, Air conditioning, Power, Lighting, Data, Nurse call, Security and a new passenger lift where also included.

Challenges & Solutions

The sites change of use was a challenge as the floor to ceiling height within was not conducive to the number of services that are required for a Healthcare facility. Careful planning and coordination of the unknown high level public health soil pipes that ran horizontal around the site had to be implemented.  The sites’ location also needed careful planning around our delivery and rubbish collections to avoid the high number of residents who live in the building. Meeting with the FM team weekly helped plan each week’s tasks.
